Mr. Arthur Cecil Sellers age 93, of the Turniptown community, Ellijay, GA passed Friday evening, December 22nd, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Sellers was born April 6th, 1924 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Walter and Lemma Turner Sellers. Arthur was a member of Turniptown Baptist Church. He served honorably and received a Purple Heart for his service in the United States Army during WWII while stationed in the Philippines. Arthur worked for General Motors for over 30 years. Mr. Sellers is preceded in death by his wife, Olive “Nell” Painter Sellers and brothers, Frank, Carl, and Jonathan Sellers.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Andria “Bunny” George of Auburn Hills, MI and Jan and Jon Stewart of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Arthur Stewart, Sarah Miran Hut, Nathan Allen George, Erin A. Stewart and Alex Christopher Stewart; great grandchildren, Layla Jean Stewart, Jonathan Oliver Hut and Olivia Painter Hut; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 28th, 2017 from the Turniptown Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones, Rev. Billy Cantrell, and Rev. Ricky Brown officiating. Music will be by the Turniptown Baptist Church Choir with piano accompaniment by Michael Gibson. Graveside interment will follow in the Turniptown Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jonathan A. Stewart, Nathan A. George, Alex C. Stewart, Ben Hutt, and Jon Stewart.
Family will receive friends from 4pm until 7pm on Wednesday, December 27th, 2017 at the Logan Funeral Home.
