Mr. Clyde Burton Hinton, age 85 of Ellijay, GA passed Saturday morning, December 23rd, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Hinton was born September 8th, 1932 in Kent, AL to his late parents Carl Hoffman Hinton, Sr. and Delphine Mullins Hinton. Burt was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ. He served honorably in the United States Army as a medic during the Korean War. Mr. Hinton was a graduate of Auburn University and worked as a textile engineer. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mae Rich Hinton.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Carl Hall, Pam and Tim Hall, all of Ellijay, GA, and Johnna and Micheal Horn of Wetumpka, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Amy Hinton of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Carla Clance, Carey Hall, Luke Hall, Keli Miller, Taylor Horn, Hinton Horn, Shyanne Horn, Spencer Hall, and Tucker Hall; eleven great grandchildren; brother, David Hinton of Wetumpka, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, December 26th, 2017 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Butch Jones, Min. Luke Hall, Min. Hinton Horn, Mr. Tucker Hall, Mr. Spencer Hall, Mr. Carl Hall and Mr. Micheal Horn officiating and speaking. Congregational singing will be led by Hinton Horn. Interment will be held in the Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery with Luke Hall, Spencer Hall, Tucker Hall, Hinton Horn, Jay Miller, Ken White, Tim Hall and Micheal Horn serving as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour at 2pm on Tuesday, December 26th, 2017 at the Logan Funeral Home.
Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made to the North Georgia Bible Camp or to the Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, both in care of the Ellijay Church of Christ at 351 North Main Street, Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mr. Hinton.
