Mrs. Sarah Kate Sullivan Smith, age 88 of Ellijay, GA passed Thursday evening, May 4th, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Smith was born November 4th, 1928 in Savannah, GA to her late parents William Thomas Sullivan and Kate Waters Sullivan. She was a graduate of Savannah High School, was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Savannah for over 50 years where she played the piano for 40+ years. Sarah Kate also volunteered for Hospice Medical Records. Mrs. Smith had been a member of Cartecay United Methodist Church for the last nine and a half years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Enoch Elzie Smith, Jr. and her son Mitchell Smith.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Deborah and Russel Loper and Kandy Smith, all of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Chris Boykin, Brooks Boykin, Sara Anderson and Keaton Loper; Five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 from the Chapel of Logan Funeral Home with Brother Royce Hughes and Rev. Rebecca Holmes officiating. Music and vocals will be by Susan Hochkins, Julie Deloney and Maggie McDonald. Graveside interment will be held at 3pm on Friday, May 12th, 2017 at the Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
Family will receive friends from 2pm until the service hour on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 at the Logan Funeral Home.
