Mr. Lee Roy Harper, age 67 of Ellijay, GA passed Friday afternoon, January 5th, 2018.
Mr. Harper was born November 20, 1950 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents, Cecil Pinkney and Vera Jane Newberry Harper. He was a member of Flat Branch Baptist Church and worked in the textile industry for over 40 years, retiring after 25 years with Mohawk Industries as a tufting mechanic.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wanda Kay Wishon Harper of the home in Ellijay, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Arminda and Junior Partin of Ellijay, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher “Chris” and Keli Harper of McCaysville, GA; grandchildren, Kaylee Partin, Coby Partin and Michael Suzor; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Scott Deal of Ballground, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Otis and Lois Harper of Ellijay, GA, Eldridge and Marilyn Harper of Ellijay, GA, and Phillip Harper of Ellijay, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, January 8th, 2018 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Davis and Rev. Franklin Harper officiating. Music and vocals will be by Martha Harper. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant “Buckhorn” Baptist Church Cemetery with Mark Harper, Junior Partin, Ronnie Wishon, Brandon Harper, Harper Pohlman and Chad Harper serving as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends from 2pm until 7pm on Sunday, January 7th, 2018 at the Logan Funeral Home.
