Mrs. Annie Lois Wells Dover, age 85 of Ellijay, GA passed on Tuesday morning, February 6th, 2018 at the Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, GA.
Mrs. Dover was born June 25th, 1932 in Ellijay, GA to her late parents James Ruel and Essie Mae Sales Wells. Lois was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellijay. Mrs. Dover graduated from Ellijay High School, Class of 1950 and went on to graduate from North Georgia College in 1954. She was a retired educator, having worked as a teacher and librarian for the Gilmer County School System for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Greer Dover and sister, Elizabeth Wells Gudger.
Survivors include her daughter: Betty Dover of Ball Ground, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Leigh Ann Dover of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren and in-law, Shelly Goble, Stuart and Sandy Goble, James Dover and Jason Dover; great grandchildren, William C. Goble and Wesley Kay Goble; sisters and brothers-in-law, Christen W. Johnson of Norcross, GA, Helen and Howard Winslett of Ellijay, GA, Shirley and Roger Edmondson of Ellijay, GA, and Peggy and Mike Ridgewell of Woodstock, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Shirley Wells of Ellijay, GA also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, February 12th, 2018 from the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with Rev. James Holt officiating. Music and vocals will be by the First Baptist Church Choir and Rev. Scott Eaton. Pallbearers will be Joe Wells, Steve Wells, Greg Wells, Michael Edmondson, Mark Edmondson, Terry Johnson, Joe Hill and Lee Winslett. Interment will be in the Ellijay City Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 2pm until 7pm on Sunday, February 11th, 2018 at the Logan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Ellijay Building Fund, 164 Dalton Street, Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mrs. Dover.
