Mr. Charles Edward Sanford, age 77 of the Tails Creek community in Ellijay, GA, formerly of Cartersville, GA passed on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021.
Mr. Sanford was born February 8th, 1944 in Cartersville, GA to his late parents, William Jefferson and Jesse Ovalene Kilgore Sanford. Charles was a member of First Zion Baptist Church in Cartersville and was also a God-called minister. For many years he owned and operated his own grading business in Bartow county. He is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Bray and brothers-in-law, Ralph Bray and Earl Massey.
Charles is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Martha Ruff Sanford of the home in Ellijay, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Iris and Jerry Davis of Ellijay, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Lisa Sanford of Cartersville, GA, Stiles and Renee Sanford of Cartersville, GA and David and Brandi Sanford of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren and spouses, Justin Davis and Tasha Anderson, Dustin and Beth Harper, Saul Landaverde and Hannah Harper, Caroline and Ricardo Lamberti, Jonathan Sanford, Madison Sanford, Samantha Sanford, Dillon Sanford and Sarah Sanford; great grandchildren, Maddie Harper, Liam and Adi Landaverde, and McKenna and McKenzie Lamberti; Sister, Lois Massey of Cassville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Brenda Sanford of Cartersville, Jimmy and Becky Sanford of Ellijay, GA, and Gary and Debra Sanford of Cartersville, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 2pm on Thursday, September 9th, 2021 from the Ellijay City Cemetery with Rev. Michael Smith officiating and music by Rev. Scott Eaton. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Sanford, Dillon Sanford, Saul Landaverde, Jimmy Sanford, Jr., Cliff Sanford, Dakota Sanford and Levi Sanford.
Family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:45pm on Thursday, September 9th, 2021 at Logan Funeral Home.
