Mr. Leonard Keith Hoyt, age 67 of Ellijay, GA passed on Friday morning, August 24th, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Hoyt was born July 31st, 1951 in St. Augustine, FL to his father Leonard Walter Hoyt, Jr. and late mother, Marion Gertrude Simmons Hoyt. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war on river boats and on the USS Enterprise. Leonard was a volunteer firefighter for Cherry Log Station 3 with the Gilmer County Fire Department for several years. He is preceded in death by his Daughter, Rachel Hoyt.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dolores Ann (Cannon) Hoyt of Ellijay, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Johnathan & Jamie Hoyt of Ellijay, GA, father and step mother, Leonard Jr. & Kathy Hoyt of Crumpton, MD, sister & brother-in-law, Sherri & Bill Ledden of Blue Ridge, GA, brothers & sisters-in-law, John & Diane Silks of Abingdon, MD and Craig & Cindy Hoyt of Great Falls, MT, 4 Nieces, 3 Nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 30th, 2018 from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Dr. Milton Perry officiating. Military graveside rites will immediately follow the service and will be performed by the North GA Honor Guard. Inurnment will take place at 2:00pm on Thursday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-11:00AM on Thursday, August 30th, 2018 at Logan Funeral Home & Chapel
