Mrs. Edith Marvene (Tinsley) Tolbert, age 95 of Talking Rock, GA passed on Thursday, May 16th, 2019 at the Grandview Nursing Home in Jasper,GA.
Mrs. Tolbert was born on May 4th, 1924 in Powder Springs, GA to her late parents, George C. Tinsley and Eva Howington Tinsley. Edith was a 1941 graduate of Powder Springs High School, was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and was a retiree of Rich’s Department Stores in Atlanta after working as a bookkeeper for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Tolbert.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Rosser officiating. Interment will follow in the Powder Springs Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Marjorie and Lesley Berry of Talking Rock, GA; grandchildren, Amy Berry, Rev. Christopher (Michelle) Metcalf, and Kevin Metcalf; great-grandchildren, Drew Metcalf, Ashten (Josiah) Motosue, Carah Metcalf, and Cory Metcalf; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Recreation Fund at PO Box 779 Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mrs. Tolbert.
The family will receive friends from 12pm noon until the service hour of 2pm on Saturday, May 18th at the Logan Funeral Home.
