Obituary of Shirley Amildia Dotson

Mrs. Shirley Amildia (Dunn) Dotson, age 82 of the Tails Creek Community Ellijay, GA passed on Tuesday September 3, 2019 at her home. Born February 26th, 1937 to her late parents Joseph Homer Dunn and Shadia Ann Orr Dunn in Ellijay, GA. She was a member of the Northcutt Baptist Church and a retiree of the Superb Carpet Mill. Preceded in death by sisters, Goldie Edison, Winnie Woody, Lois Davis, Rebecca Carter, brothers, Morris Dunn, Clifford Dunn, Johnnie Dunn, Farish Dunn.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday September 5th, 2019 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Dotson and Rev. Glen Arnold officiating. Music and singing will be by Dwight Sanford, Lowell Davis and Danny McArthur. Graveside interment will follow in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with Edward Dotson, Greg Dotson, Homer Davis, Kenny Fendley, Roger Fendley and Jim Dotson serving as pallbearers.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas R. “Junior” Dotson of Ellijay, daughter, Gail F. Dotson and Stefan Payne of Ellijay, son, Phillip R. Dotson and special friend Cindy Sanford of Ellijay, granddaughter, Ashley and her spouse Jamie Wright, great grandchildren, Breyden and Brenden Wright, several nieces and nephews.
